Studies on the effect of salt on the activity of anti-klebsiella phage serum

Abstract
|
|
|
The author has studied on the action of various salts to the activity of anti-Klebsiella phage serum and obtained the following results.
The phage is somewhat destroyed by salt itself in Co(NO3)2 of 10-1 Mol, ZnSO4 and CuSO4 of 10-2 Mol and Pb (C2H3O2)2, HgCI2 and AgNO3 of 10-3 Mol respectively.
The antiserum-inhibiting action of salt is different according to salt and the increasing grade of activity of antiserum occurred by decreasing of salt concentration is more remarkable in the salt whose ionizing tendency is higher than lower.
